Artist Statement: 938collective is an arena where artists can “get things out.” Our collective was born from an urgency felt within ourselves to create during a time when creating felt... dangerous... far removed... and expensive. Together, we are constantly challenging ways to showcase our artistic talents with the desire to pass the mic to other writers, doodlers, painters, widdle-ers, actors, directors, playwrights, photographers, and those who can’t sit still bearing the weight of their art inside of them. We believe in providing an environment where you can truly 'get things out' and practice your craft. Our studio at 117 9th Street in Brooklyn (GCS) is a versatile and welcoming space, perfect for meetings, readings, workshops, and all your creative endeavors. We're here to support your artistic journey.
