- Artist Statement
- Adam Suerte was born and raised in South Brooklyn. He studied at the Art Student’s League, The High School of Music and Art and The Rhode Island School of Design. He considers himself a painter, illustrator, graphic artist and comic maker but dabbles in many mediums and art forms. His chosen subject matter centers around Brooklyn landscapes, urban iconography and ghosts. In 1991 he founded the artists collective Urban Folk Art® Studios with friends from school. Tattooing since 1999, he co-founded Brooklyn Tattoo® currently in Carroll Gardens. He makes art out of his studio in Red Hook.
