- The seed is the protector, its precious insides laid safe inside a shield. After a 6-year hiatus from painting, I’m painting again on canvas again. I’ve been painting with unconventional materials, breaking and bonding my courage to try new things, to get out of my comfort zone, as they say. Steel, concrete, ceramics. Things being as they are, any comfort zone sounds pretty nice right now.
