Artist’s Profile – Arts Gowanus

Artist Statement: My vision and sensibility are shaped, in part, by the openness of my native landscape where one can see 360 degrees of horizon and the ever-present dome of sky as it changes through hours and seasons. I am most interested in inquiry - in the energy, frequency and tone of a work. An important influence is my study of the poetic and philosophical lessons of Asian art. Conceptually rich and often visually spare, my work reflects nature's directness and its paradoxical strength and fragility. The pleasure of working with my hands and my appreciation for the integrity of my materials are endlessly engaging.
