- Artist Statement
- The grid is the underpinning for the forms I use and, of course, is the most basic of structures. It reiterates the fact of the flat surface. But the geometry of the grid is softened by my process. It is handmade and may be a bit wobbly. It is not hard-edged, but rather one that reflects the process of painting with evident brush marks and drips. I am influenced by quilts and old game boards, artifacts that are also handmade and have a defined underlying structure.
