Artist Statement: I am a multidisciplinary artist and architect interpreting habits and conditions within my surroundings. I incorporate found and collected materials with fiber techniques—crochet, weaving, sewing—drawing and ceramics. I often work in multiples to highlight our repetitive nature in daily rhythms. Including salvaged, single-use materials, I explore everyday conventions through what we discard and our environmental impacts. Feeling marginalized by most groups; not White nor Black enough, I exist within an ambiguous category. I employ intentional hierarchies—color, portrayal or opposing textures —in my works to reference my personal experiences and my sense of belonging within my daily routine.
