Artist Statement: As a native New Yorker, I am inspired by the urban bustle, but also the tranquility of nature. I capture this juxtaposition in my graphic work, mixing abstract elements, such as paint strokes, drips, graffiti markings, type, & illustration, as if a clash between the city & the coast. During COVID, after many years as a Neo-abstract expressionist painter, I went back to my roots: drawing. Observing flowers, cactus, the ocean & the sky, I connected with a deliberate portrayal of what I saw. Many photos were taken as well, photography has always been present in my practice. These new print series are an invitation into the last 6 years of my art-making.
