- Artist Statement
- Lunita Loft opened in 2022 as a multi-purpose community and art space in Gowanus. It was founded by two current Gowanus residents Manuela Aronofsky and Mario Gonzales. Lunita Loft is the home of Here and Now Artist Collective and Prison Library Support Network, as well as a venue for all types of community events. Lunita Loft’s mission is to provide an accessible platform for local and incarcerated artists to share work; host no-to-low cost meeting spaces for local volunteer organizations and community groups, and act as a non-profit venue for performing artists, photographers, and other artists - both emerging and professional.
