Artist Statement
Born in Hyogo,Japan. Based in NewYork. My latest painting theme is “Borrowed Nostalgia”. I borrowed old photographs from American friends who grew up in NewYork and mix photo realistic representations with imaginations from the past to create the paintings. Inside the work I use different cultures,race and generations to tap into our common memory,making images that are strongly presen and yet also a doorway to our shared past. That feeling has kind and sentimental and order to evoke heart warm.
