Artist Statement: I have always been drawn to what is aged, wilted, imperfect, to the beauty in what others turn away from. For me, flawlessness raises doubt. It is in the imperfection, the uncomfortable, the unresolved where something true lives. My process is intuitive and deeply tactile. I work slowly, absorbed in the smallest details, whether photographing flowers or building a collage, I follow what catches my eye. The moment where a torn edge follows the curve of a landscape and speaks of an emotion I am working towards, this is how feeling becomes visible. Over time I have come to understand that I don’t make work about what I see, I make work about how I see.
