Artist Statement: I am a sixth-grade science teacher and artist living and working in Brooklyn. My practice grows from my love of combining scientific principles with the impulse of the creative mind. I use cyanotype and other experimental processes to explore the natural world, urban environments, and the connections between humans and the living things around us. My work is rooted in curiosity and observation. I am drawn to the overlooked—wildlife adapting to cities, plants reclaiming built spaces, patterns in nature, and the quiet relationships between living things and their environments. Through art, I explore ideas of biophilia, coexistence, transformation, and our evolving sense of place and belonging.
