Artist’s Profile – Artists Directory

Artist Statement: I am an environmental artist whose practice spans multiple disciplines, including painting, sculpture, installation, and works on paper. My work celebrates the wonder and beauty of the natural world while inviting reflection on the profound impact our actions have on the environment. For Gowanus Open Studios, I will be presenting two series of works on paper: Patina: In Search of Pause — A collection of encaustic monotypes that invite the viewer to slow down, pause, and reflect. Like the patina that forms on metal, these works provide a temporary shield—a quiet layer of protection and opportunity for contemplation amid the challenges we face today. Images of Iceland — A series of richly saturated encaustic monotypes inspired by the colors, textures, and dramatic landscapes of Iceland, which I was fortunate to experience during a recent visit.
