Artist Statement: Elena Mahno is a ceramic artist who works across sculpture, relief, and artful objects. Drawing from her training in biological sciences and an itinerant childhood, her work explores instability—both physical and perceptual—and how seemingly fixed and comfortable meanings transform with context. She uses interiority, nesting, and modularity to create forms that invite a second look. Elena has exhibited across North America and Europe; recent residencies include Baer Art Centre in Iceland and Guldagergaard ICRC in Denmark. She holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Toronto, Canada.
