Thumbnail of Featured Art: Long Wander Watercolor, acrylic and collage on paper 8.5 x 14 inches 2026

Artist Statement: I'm a Brooklyn-born artist working in portraiture, printmaking, and collage. I'm drawn to images of Black and Brown women that feel both everyday and magical — and try to bring their spirits into my own artwork. My portraits begin in archives and in my own personal photographs, then move through watercolor, print, and maps and other found material. I'm interested in how documentation and the luck of geography decide who gets remembered and how — and how we hold both hope and cruelty for people who are different from us, and the beauty and damage we keep repeating.
