Jeremy Kortes Studio

Artist Statement: If I were a robot/AI, elements of my repetition-based process would line up exactly; my cuts would be exact, and their repetition would be undetectable. However, since I am human, attempts at repetition are forever marred by inexact measurements, inaccurate cuts, and other imperfections depending on countless variables. The imperfections, the mistakes and the blunders, are precisely what interests me and animate my paintings. My plein air work is really just self portraits.
