Artist Statement: My photography celebrates my surroundings and transformations - whether in my family, the Brooklyn neighborhoods I call home, or the landscapes I encounter. Through this medium I freeze time. The sites, sounds and smells of the co-existence of history and its current form captivates me. As a mother-wife-photographer, I’m immersed in the complex interactions associated with coming of age. As a New Yorker, I engage the City and its dynamism, photographing Gowanus, the trails and meadows of Prospect Park and the New York cityscape. I am also drawn to open spaces and energy of the Rocky Mountains and the cities I visit. I take inspiration from my family, architecture (old and new), urban life, and the majesty of nature.
