Artist Statement: My work develops intuitively through layers of acrylic paint, collage, drawing, scraping and sanding. I build up and remove allowing a fragments and ghost images to remain visible and become part of the painting's history. Although, abstract my work often suggests landscapes, structures and botanical themes. I am interested in the point where something begins to feel familiar but remains unresolved, leaving space for the viewer's own associations. The works evoke a time or place altered by time, emotion and memory.
