- Artist Statement
- Linda Adato (1942-2021) was a master printmaker residing in Gowanus, Brooklyn. We are delighted to open her studio to display her extensive collection of prints and monotypes. Adato was born and trained in England, and came to the US at age 20 to study at UCLA. She was a master of the à la poupee technique, a one-plate method of color printing. Her work has a sensitivity to the gentle nature of light, and she had an eye for small subjects that took on importance in her work. She was President of the Society of American Graphic Artists from 2007-2010. Her work has been shown throughout the United States and abroad.
