Maya Bormann

Artist Statement: Maya Bormann is a designer and artist working across graphic design, books, and handmade objects. For this open studio, she presents a collection of kites alongside books from her design practice. Her work explores the relationship between structure and spontaneity, inviting attention to materials and the forces that shape them. The kites ask a question that extends into her broader practice: how do we shape something with care while remaining open to what we cannot control?
