- Artist Statement
- Neil Majeski is an artist and writer based in New York. His work engages with weird mysticism, mythological tropes, and various dream-imagery. Emblems of the uncanny and grotesque embellish his visual narrative, which he tends to pair with a text as well. The text, however, is less of an explanation than a conscious and deliberate obfuscation—i.e., a process to explain “the obscure by the more obscure, the unknown by the more unknown” (obscurum per obscurius, ignotum per ignotius). He makes and publishes his own artist books under The Penultimate Press, which can be found at Printed Matter.
