Susan Greenstein

Artist Statement: Susan Greenstein is a Brooklyn-based artist whose practice centers on watercolor painting, created on-site and in the moment. Her work functions as a visual diary of cityscapes, street views, intimate vistas, and interiors, capturing light, atmosphere, and the rhythms of place. Working directly without preliminary sketches, she embraces loose, fluid brushwork and an intuitive response to her surroundings. While watercolor is central to her practice, she also explores monotype printmaking, pastel, and pen-and-ink drawing. Greenstein is a graduate of Pratt Institute and Queens College and is a 15 + member-artist of 440 Gallery. She teaches drawing and painting to adults locally and abroad.
