Artist Statement
Hand-drawn animation and collages on the topic of Niagara Falls are the focus of my current work in progress. My imagery explores themes of time, the environment, geology, and social and political issues including power, gender, and popular culture, through personal narratives and objects. Five generations of my family were settlers in Niagara Falls, Canada, and my work draws upon the lore and landscape that has shaped me. I will be working on hand-drawn animations during Open Studio.
