Creating lights, sculptures, installations, and performances that use and reference the body as it relates to our consciousness, culture and the environment is at the core of my practice. I explore intimacy and connectiveness as well as disconnection and isolation. I use fragile organic materials that interact with machine-made materials – thread through ceramics, feathers glued to my face, transparent images in hardened resin. I see myself as part of a future femme – strong, queer and independent making work that intentionally takes up space both physically and emotionally. Mirroring what I see around me, I use transparent materials and light as a way of re/deflecting memory and time.
