Artist Statement: This current body of work is based on images I collected while working and traveling in the US, Asia and Europe. The images I've adapted into these finished works are chosen from the many taken across several continents and over several years. They are the ones that speak most strongly to me in terms of their formal attributes (composition, color, textural variations, etc) as well as their somewhat less tangible poetic and emotionally resonant qualities. The series functions as a self portrait, reflecting something about me that would be difficult to transmit through another medium.
