Scott Albrecht

Artist Statement: Largely informed by typography, Scott's work often deconstructs letterforms with the intent to reconsider the relationship between message and viewer, encouraging a viewer to not simply read and consume a message but engage with the piece in the hope of creating a deeper connection to the idea and its environment. By using a consistent visual language of geometry, the works may at first give the appearance of a pattern, however, each work is a carefully considered representation of letterforms from an underlying message. These messages regularly stem from distillations of our shared or collective experiences, meant to underscore a theme of connectivity.
